Fun in the Sun?

Dear Denavir®,

Two years ago, after much planning between me and my aunts, a 90th birthday party was put in place for my aunt (my mother's sister), in Puerto Rico. I did the graphics and helped plan the event by mail with my aunt, and me and my mother spent a week prior to the event visiting other relatives. I thought it would be a good time for me to get a tan, so I spent 4-5 days on the beach prior to the big event, hoping to look healthy and tan --coming from Minnesota wearing the "winter white" look.

Unfortunately, sitting in the sun brings out the cold sores and by the day of the party I looked like my mouth had had surgery. I must have had 6 or 7 large cold sore blisters right in the middle of the top lip. I could barely smile--let alone speak--and I was trying so hard to be fluent enough in Spanish to make my mother proud. She never knew how embarassed I was. She was proud of me anyway, but all I remember was how much I had to use my napkin to cover my mouth. And how hard I tried not to appear rude by being so quiet. But this past week, I went to Puerto Rico again, and that's where I learned of this new medicine Denavir® (penciclovir cream) and what had started out as 2 eruptions from 2 days at the beach disappeared. I am so impressed. Can't wait to share this information with my kids and sisters who are also victims of this malady.
